If you live in Darwin (NT, Australia) and want to join in some fun with the other local unicyclists, you will first need to learn to ride a unicycle. Click here to find out about Miss Deb’s Circus Classes in your area. Click here to go to the Corrugated Iron Youth Arts (CIYA) website for details about circus workshops in the Nightcliff area as well as adult circus classes.
(Note. If you know of any other circus/unicycle classes within the NT, please ask the class organisers to contact us so we can put a link to their classes from this website. By doing this we will ensure anybody in the NT who wants to learn to ride a unicycle will be able to find the closest workshops available for them to get some assistance).
Around Darwin on One Wheel Unicycling is a lot of fun and even more so if you get the chance to practice with some fellow unicyclists. If you are good at riding, you will enjoy the our rides and maybe learn some new skills from other riders. If however you are still a beginner you will still have lots of fun and you will get better on the unicycle very quickly if you come out on a ride with us. Before you do however you will need to have achieved the following basic unicycle skills: Mount quickly and consistently whilst assisted (eg mount whilst holding onto another unicyclists/bicyclists shoulder). Ride at least 30 meters assisted (eg. holding onto another unicyclists/bicyclists shoulder) This will enable you to enjoy the ride and not get left behind. If you need assistance, it is best (but not essential) for you to bring along a person to assist you on the unicycle rides.
Check out our schedule to see when the next ride and practice session will be.
