Debbie Hyder (as well as anyone else who volunteers) regularly co-ordinate FREE public unicycle rides. EVERYONE is welcome, young and old, on one wheel or two. In addition, subject to demand, we sometimes also have a weekly gathering point for enthusiastic unicyclists to practice and share their skills. To be involved with these sessions (and regularly with the public rides) you will need to become a financial member of the Australian Unicycle Society. At the practice sessions we also ask for a small contribution (maybe $2-$5) to cover the cost of the facilities. You must also bring your own unicycle, helmet and other safety equipment. Call Debbie to buy or possibly borrow a unicycle (and safety gear) if you don’t have everything you need.

If you wish to join in a practice session please visit the schedule above to find out the date of our next session. Don’t forget bring all your unicycle, helmet and safety equipment as well as a water bottle.

If you wish to join in a unicycle ride please read the following requirements and click on the months above to see when and where the next unicycle ride will be.

REQUIREMENTS
Mount quickly and consistently
whilst assisted (eg mount whilst holding onto another unicyclists/bicyclists shoulder).
Ride at least 30 meters assisted (eg. holding onto another unicyclists/bicyclists shoulder)
This will enable you to enjoy the ride and not get left behind.
If you need assistance it is best (but not essential) for you to bring along a person to assist you.
Safety equipment- All riders (children & adults) are required to wear a helmet and wrist guards. Knee pads and elbow pads are also recommended.
Appropriate behaviour - All participants are required to conduct themselves in a safe, responsible and respectful manner towards themselves, other participants, non-participants and personal and public property. All participants will obey road/bicycle rules at all times and when on bicycle paths will ride on the left side of the path at all times.
Supervision - If participants are 16 years or under, it is the responsibility of their parent or guardian to provide adequate supervision to ensure safety and appropriate behaviour.
Transport - some rides will start at one location and finish at another so you will need to arrange to be picked up at the finish. Most rides however will start and finish at the same location (loop rides).
Personal insurance is recommended as we accept no responsibility or liability for riders.
Water - Bring your own water bottles or camel packs as NO water will be provided for riders.
